Role & responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and visionary professional to lead the Manufacturing Engineering function for a construction equipment manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and support the company's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

• Define and implement manufacturing engineering strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Drive innovation in manufacturing processes to achieve competitive advantages.

Process Optimization:
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve production efficiency, quality,
and safety.

• Implement lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to reduce waste and enhance productivity.

Project Management:

• Oversee the design, procurement, and commissioning of new equipment and manufacturing systems.
• Lead process improvement and automation projects to enhance operational efficiency.

Team Leadership:

• Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing manufacturing engineering team.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.

Cost Management:

• Develop and monitor budgets for manufacturing engineering projects and initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings in manufacturing processes and materials.

Quality Assurance:

• Collaborate with quality teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Address manufacturing-related quality issues and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Technology and Innovation:

• Stay abreast of emerging manufacturing technologies and industry trends.
• Integrate advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., automation, robotics, IoT) into operations.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Partner with design, production, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes.
• Support product development by providing manufacturability assessments and recommendations.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

• Ensure adherence to HSE regulations and best practices in all manufacturing activities.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience:
  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the construction equipment or heavy machinery industry.
  • Proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing and automation projects.
• Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Expertise in CAD/CAM software and other manufacturing engineering tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to construction equipment.
